Here's the situation, i was med-evac'd in 2002 and discharged the same year. When i was discharged i was done so without my service jacket (my command was still at sea). Anyway they discharged me with no entries for awards (except the National Defense Medal). How do i get about getting this fixed?

I've tried a few of the goverment links but all i keep getting back is that they have no idea where my records are. What can i do? Anything? At this point i don't even remember what awards i had, but was wanting my DD-214 ammended according to my service jacket.

Did you keep copies of all your orders?  If so, then those might even be the originals, and are source documents proving you have those awards.  That makes it much easier to amend the DD-214.

I had copies of my service jacket and all, but when i was medevac'd none of my personal items with me. After the initial medevac it was determined i needed more care than the local facility could give so i was flown out.

Long story short, everything i owned (literally) was never returned to me. It somehow dissapeared.
