Col. David Hackworth has died. We've lost an outspoken hero.

Col. Hackworth went to college and was a friend with one of my good friend's grandfather. Very sad to hear about his death.

Though I haven't agreed much with him in the recent past, he was a fine Soldier and he was good at looking out for the grunts on the line.

I think Hack's biggest problem was that he had the misfortune to be a hero in two unpopular and unheralded wars.
