| Hey guys I just came home on HBL, I`m currently in AIT (31B MP). When I was there all I could think about was coming home, now that I home, all I can think about is being back in training. Is this normal? |

I'd say yes...more than 4 days of leave in a row is to much for me. I either go stir crazy or I don't want to go back. I planned out what I was going to do on leave way in advance to I have a schedule of sorts, it helps curb the boredom if nothing else. The bigger issue is that my folks are driving me up the wall already, and...well...I don't like non-military people very much anymore. |

Also be prepared to not have the same interests as the friends you left at home. I had a 30 day leave before I PCS'd to Hawaii back in 1999 and it sucked. I was bored out of my mind after the first 3 days and after the first night of sitting around doing nothing with my old buddies I ended up just working on my dad's old willys with my one gearhead friend who was home from boot on recruiters assistance. Everyone else was too busy getting high and being stupid. |

Quoted: Why don`t you like non-military people anymore? I had a low tolerance for stupidity, immaturity, laziness, and tardiness before I came in; it's only been magnified since. I'm just a bitter old man at 23 though, think Clint Eastwood in Gran Torino Aside from that a lot of my old friends just don't get it. Some of them have great lives, yet they act like it's the end of the world if they don't get tickets to the Duke games. Others bitch and moan about their situation yet choose to do nothing about it to change it. |

Most of them are in community college living with mom and dad, barely sliding by with B'c and C's doing the same stupid shit they did in high school and middle school. |
