Anyone have any info on the federal program which lends old M16A1s to LE agencies?

Its Defense Reutilization and Marketing but I heard, and don't quote me, that its no good for firearms in NY.

Its called the 1033 Program. Not sure what the formal name is, but everyone calls it that. SecDef basically transfers surplus DOD equipment (including rifles) directly to a LE agency on a "loan" program. The agency has to set up a 10330 program liaison and I think register at both the state and federal level.

We don't ask for rifles, but we do have some vehicles on loan. A few agencies in Florida still have some UH-1's on loan.
