I knew Chris Brown for over a decade, bumping into each other on calls and in training. He left work early on Monday or Tuesday with a bad headache, then checked himself into the hospital that evening. Last night one of the guys on my hockey team who is on the city FD got a text while we were warming up to the effect that Chris had slipped away. I'll miss him. Funeral is Monday.

I'm sorry for your loss. It's dejavu. Had a good friend of mine pass away years ago. I was his relief on midnight shift, I was a rookie and my Bullet proof vest hadn't come in yet, he would give me his to wear when he punched out. He was finishing his 1600-2400 hrs, i drove him home and he said he didn't feel well and had a headache. He went home and never woke up. 32Yoa and passed away. I still have that vest 13 years later. Life is so precious......
