For the officers carrying the Kimber SIS what round are you carrying and are you guys using the laminate wood grips that came on the weapon or something else?

Peacekeeper,

If i'm not mistaken, I believe only the SWAT/SIS guys get to use Kimbers and they load them up with Gold Dot (unless it's been updated). I just had some training with a bunch of SWAT guys and the grips did not look laminated, they were sythetic looking, subdued/matte type colors (greens, OD, tan, etc). SIS and SWAT are the best, I'm sure they're carrying top quality gear.

Thanks for the reply LABlackRifle. Knew their carry ammo would be the same. The grip question was just curosity to see if they all used the same ones or the officers were allowed to switch to whatever they were comfortable with.

Not LAPD, but you cant go wrong with the Ranger T or bonded golden saber.

Absolutely. The guys that carry a 9mm or 40 use Winchester Ranger and the 45 guys use Gold Dots. Great rounds, no complaints from any of the bad guys that've run into them.

I'm SWAT(not LAPD). The .45 cal round we carry is speer gold dot. hope this helps.
