| I am working on my community project for the department and was thinking about a program simular to a Police Explorer (actually this will be a Sheriff/Deputy explorer program). Has anyone set one of these programs up? I am doing the preliminary research first before I dive into it. I know I will have a lot of research to do before I brief the boss on the benefits (and cons) of doing this. Any help/links/policy would be nice to read over. If you have good points or bad points please let me know. Thanks for the help... |

Don't try and pave a new road when you can drive down someone else's Benefits is community relations, future employees, and keeping kids out of trouble. Downside is the problem with kids. |

I agree with the learning for life program. I run the explorer post here at my sheriff's office in Illinois and use the LFL program. Costs are relatively inexpensive, really depends on exactly what you want to do with the kids. The LFL can provide everything you need. Feel free to contact me if you want/need further. MD |
