Do any of your departments do uniform inspections in briefing/roll call? Apparently we are going to start. Got a couple new guys in management who lateraled over from an outside agency and are bringing that with them. |

I don't have a problem with inspections in principal but in practice. If you look like a slob then someone should tell you to get it together. I don't see much reason to do a formal inspection. My department has talked about them but never put anything in place. Joe |
| Formal uniform inspections monthly with the new Captain starting now. Weapon, vehicle, driver's license, ect. also to be ready in case he wants to see it. Notes will be made of infractions to be corrected. Uniform will always be long sleeves (polyester) with tie. |

about once a year they get on a kick about that at our place. Usually do it once or twice and it falls by the wayside. Usually occures about a month after we get our uniform allowance and they check to see that we have on the "correct" uniforms per policy and that they are tailored right. They do vehicle about once a month but we know when it is coming and only one supervisor does them (the one incharge of vehicles) and there is rarely a problem. J- |

Nothing formal. I am a supervisor and I look at all my officers when they come to work to make sure they look professional, proper uniforms, and proper grooming. I chewed out my current trainee for coming to work without a proper shave. He seemed a little butt hurt and I told him I didn't care if I hurt his feelings. He WILL look properly groomed when he is at work. I don't believe in formal inspections (and I've done many of them after numerous years in the USMC) I believe every day is the day for an inspection....just doesn't have to be formal. |
Is that the patrol uniform or will you have to change out after inspection to go 10-8? |
Are you CALEA certified yet? If not you will be soon. Good luck and I'm sorry. |
