Since I've posted pictures of my departments vehicles I won't go into too many details, but I'm beyond frustrated.

A lack of cohesion at the fire station, an overall lack of faith of the leadership by the general membership. Having 2 districts competing over nothing, officers who can't get along...

Sometimes I really wonder if it's worth it to do the volunteer thing anymore.

Need to get out next school year and visit with the little kids doing show and tell, safety, and fire prevention.    It'll make things much better for you.

Sounds overly simplistic.   But my bet is that this will help with your state of mind.   Find some like minded crew and have fun.  Good attitude is as contagious as bad.

I wish I could tell you that when you do it as a full-time wage earning gig ("pro-feshnul") things like that disappear.

They don't. I'm working on the "City Fire Officer's Academy Guide to Dealing with Subordinates", just by jotting notes from conversations and observations of our leaders bosses at our FD.

Let's put it this way - the motto of the "Academy" is Toto Credito, Sin Faultum
