With all of the tazer threads going around in GD lately, I have a question for you guys. I am not trolling your forum. In fact, I post this in here so that it won't become a cop bashing melee. My question for you is this. Can you think of any instances where a police officer anywhere in the country has misused a tazer or committed an act of police brutality? If so, when (generally, I'm not asking for exact time and date, just a close proximity) and where was the most recent that comes to mind? Rest assured, I am not looking to start an argument or debate. I would just like to know for my own edification. |

Has the Royal Canadian Mounted Police taken any action against the Mounties that killed that Polish guy in the airport yet? After the video came out the RCMP said something about it would be looking into charges of misconduct after the video negated the official statement of the chain of events. |
I hope not and I hope that no civil action is filed against any of them. From what I've seen in video (granted I wasn't there but niether were you) The guy deserved to be tazed. If you're going to act out like an asshole in public then you deserved to get tazed or have the shit kicked out of you, hopefully by an anonymous bystander before the cops get there (sign me up). End of story. Like the "don't taze me bro" dickhead that interrupted the John Kerry debate. He acted like an asshole in public and then resisted the police when they tried to remove his asshole acting ass. BOO HOO. If I had been there I would have offered to kick his ass for the cops. I can only speak for myself but I've never had a negative interaction with police (like a traffic stop/ticket) that I didn't deserve, and those (2 tickets) were when I was a teenager. I've grown up since then. I didn't argue with the cop on the side of the road and think that I knew more about the law than him/her. I just took my ticket and paid it because I was wrong. Far too many people watch the people's court, CSI, and other stupid shows that make them think that they know more about whats going on than the people who get paid to do it every day. I can only speak for my own experiences but I've never been detained, arrested, OC sprayed, tazed, or shot at random by the police. If you have then maybe you need to move to a different area, preferably OUTSIDE the US. For the record I'm not in LE, but I have a few close friends who are. They don't go around kicking pregnant women, beating up little old ladies, or stopping people at random hoping they can taze someone for something to do. Are there a few bad cops out there? absolutely(do you have coworkers who suck at your job?, I know I do), but the vast and overwhelming majority of them are good. They have a hard, very often thankless job to do. They deserve our support and respect, give them that and I bet you will get it in return. Stay safe... |
