| What was the highest speed that y'all have gave a warning for? Has anyone ever gotten in trouble for giving a warning instead of a ticket? |
16 over I think it was, I don't see to many speeders through my little berg. I don't know anyone that has gotten into trouble for giving a warning as opposed to a cite for just speed. OWI or something along those lines? Sure... |

I don't remember for speed, but I saw a guy turn left in front of somebody else at a traffic light. It wasn't close enough to say he ALMOST caused an accident, but it was close enough for a cite. As soon as I walked up to the car the guy gave me this look like "just get me out of here" and his wife started bitching at me saying he used his signals and I didn't have a reason to stop him. I felt sorry for the guy so I let him off

What's great is when you let him off on the turn and pinch the bitching passenger for seatbelt (if they don't have one on)

I once stopped a limo for 65 MPH in a 35 MPH zone at about 0400. I was going to write him until I heard him getting his a$$ handed to him on the phone by an upset customer he was late picking up. He seemed like a nice guy and no one else was on the raod so I gave him a break. Did not get in trouble for that but did get in trouble for not arresting a suspended driver that was trying to get a sick wife and child home. Bucky145 |
20 or so over. Ofc's have discretion, so whether a W/R was issued instead of peeling a t-arrest it's no matter to anyone except the motorist you cut a break to. If higher higher is fussing about it then you have some issues at your agency. |
