I didn't know where to ask this question so I figured that the BOTS section would be the best place to ask. I applied with the OR DOC and on Sept. 5 I was called by a background investigator and he began running my background check. Within 24 hours, all of my previous employers had been called, as I stay relatively close to my former co-workers. Fast forward to now.....I still have not heard back from the background investigator. Should I give him a call to see where I stand or should I just continue to wait it out and expect a call soon? |

Yes, wait. The investigator might be busy with a lot of other backgrounds & doesn't have time to get back with everyone right away. Plus there are other things we do with these checks other than speak to folks about the candidate. Good luck. ETA: HR prolly doesn't know what your process status is. At least in my city, each dept or division is resonsible for conducting the hiring process. HR only posts the openings & deals with current employee benefits. |
+1 "Hurry up and wait" is pretty standard. |
| Im still waiting on my background inv. with the Wa. County sheriffs office....my actual background interview was on the 13 of sept....from what I was told, it will take a while, something like I should hear back in the middle of oct. I woudn't worry about it...its a long process. |
