Hey, I'm looking at a way to carry a good off duty rig. Basically my gun, spare magazine, badge, cuffs or flashlight. I've seen some holsters that carry the gun and spare magazine. I've seen a spare mag pouches that carry a spare magazine and cuff or flashlight.

I've seen them in plastics and leather. Right now I just carry my badge in a ID booklet and my GLOCK 22 on my hip in a Leather DeSantis out the waist holster.

Any of you guys have pictures of your rigs? Maybe I can get some ideas of what might work for me.

That's a lot of stuff to tote around with you off-duty.

I carry a Glock 19 in a Galco M5X Matrix paddle holster. I carry a spare magazine in a Fobus paddle holster. I carry a set of standard Hiatts cuffs and a MK-3 can of OC stream (taser friendly of course) in an Aker combination Cuff/OC holster. I clip a 3-watt Rayovac LED flashlight  in my left front pants pocket. Right front pocket holds a Buck/Strider 889 folder or a Cold Steel Recon-1 plain edge depending on my mood.

That's my set-up for working off-duty jobs but I sure as hell wouldn't want to carry all of that stuff around with me just on a regular day off. Sorry, no pictures.

I have my XD in a Blade-Tech IWB holster at 4 o'clock. Badge is clipped on the belt right in front of the holster. I have Galco Mag/Cuff pouch on the opposite side. CRKT knife is clipped in my right pocket and Surefire E2d is clipped on the left pocket.

Not going to carry everything at once mind you. But sometimes I work off duty details and I don't want to carry my duty rig. The entire set would be for the off duty details.

I carry a Keltec P11 in a Fobus holster.  Usually keep an extra pair of cuffs in my vehicle.

I also work plainclothes most of the time (narcotics) and carry a Glock 19 w/TLR1 light in a FIST leather holster.  On the other side, I carry an extra mag and a pair of cuffs in a G&G (I think) holder.  It holds a magazine and a pair of cuffs attached to a paddle.

I don't carry a lot of stuff on me off duty.

I think it's important to carry some sort of less lethal device. OC Spray is my choice and it seems to be widely accepted. I used to just carry my gun and badge and a pair of cuffs inside the car. A couple of incidents changed my way of thinking. I don't want to fight with someone and risk getting disarmed. I think the OC spray goes a long way into taking the fight out of most folks. Having cuffs on me to restrain someone until the on duty folks arrive sure beats standing over someone that's not restrained and saying "Don't even think about running".

I've worn my duty belt off-duty a couple of times but sometimes I spend long periods of time in the car and it gets uncomfortable after a while.
