| Does anyone have recomendations for a somewhat affordable armor plate retailer. I am interested in purchasing a rifle plate to wear and have to buy my own. I found some new looking stuff on ebay but am leary of going that route. Does anyone have any dealings with anyone. |

There are several good posts in the tactical gear section (Arms and Tactics). All the info you could want on plates (steel vs ceramic) and carriers. Also, you might want to take a look at the body armor section over at lightfighter.net, good info there too. I think you can get steel plates from Kejo for around $125 to about $150. The cheapest I have seen ceramic is CPC plates for $150 at Botach I think. But there are a whole host of other places that sell armor, Diamondback Tactical is supposed to have some awesome stuff. I would stay away from Ebay. |
| I bought Level III Stand Alone Steel Plates from BulletProofME.com. $110.00 Per Plate. $240 Total for 2 plates and shipping. I ordered at noon and had them in the morning 2 days later. I was very impressed with the product and service. My plates weight 9 lbs each, so they are heavier than ceramics, but I like the durability of them. I just set up my Active Shooter Rig with 6 mags, EMT Pouch for GSW and a hydration pack. Hope this helps. |
