FYI From  my Chief

I wanted to send you a quick reminder about the upcoming airing of
"Into the Fire,"  a documentary from Academy Award-winner, Bill Couturie.
The documentary offers a glimpse inside the fire station, detailing the
humor and intense loyalty shared by the men and women who routinely
entrust their lives to one another. The music of Bruce Springsteen, Bob
Dylan,

Dire Straits and other leading musical artists underscores the
humorous, poignant and sometimes harrowing accounts of those interviewed.   The
documentary will air on The History Channel on Friday, October 13th at
8:00 p.m /7C.

There will also be a second air date on Sunday, October 22nd at 4:00
p.m. /3C.

I'm sending this note to you to encourage you to share this information
with members of this organization, as well as your family and friends.
Fireman's Fund Insurance Company supported the making of the film to
raise the nation's consciousness about the challenges fire  fighters face
everyday. The film is an extension of the company's social mission to
support

fire  fighters through the Fireman's Fund HeritageSM program. Funds
raised through special screening events, sales of film memorabilia, calls
for donations and sales of film DVDs will benefit fire  fighters and fire
service organizations nationwide in association with the National Fallen
Fire  fighters Foundation.

I also think you'll be interested in reading a review of the film by a
Fire Rescue Magazine editor, who saw it at Fire Rescue International:

I watched a fully-engulfed second story damn near come down on a couple of FF's recently....there must be a fine line between bravery/heroism and insanity.

Gonna watch the show...

I watched it last night, I usually don't care for these types of shows but this was very well done.
Had a decent mix of big city full-timers and small-town vollies with their viewpoints on different topics.
I liked the part  when they talked about all the boring, mundane shit we have to do after the fire is out, (clean hose, clean equipment, etc...). "Where's your NO FEAR sticker now, Spanky"

Best line of the show -
What do policemen and firefighters have in common?

...Both want to be firefighters.

Good show.

We watched it at work. I thought it was good and liked how they explained how different the culture the is with the constant ribbing and joking and how you take it and dont get your pantie in a bunch.
