It was an Armed Robbery Suspect..typical 50-time loser, out on bail, even thoug he had committed other offenses, including failure to appears. The Officer was killed during the pursuit and the media questioned the validity of the pursuit, rather than blaming the skell.

I think it is indeed a rare chief that would get on the tube and say something like that. Some (maybe most) might actually think that way but they would never make such a statement in public. What a shame.
