3rd shift in my little village is a sleeper shift most nights... you have to fight to stay awake, or get into something.

So, being young and eager to get into stuff, I stop cars.

I had two stops last night, both for only one working headlight.    Niether of the drivers had valid licenses, and one guy had five open suspensions.   And he knew exactly why I stopped him, a simple equipment violation.

Caught a murderer on a busted tag light once.  2 catch the big fish, you have to cast a wide net.  That means stopping every little CSV and digging a little deeper.

Non-PC moment.
Generally people who can't/don't take care of their cars can't/don't take care of their lives.
Sooooo many warrants picked up from out head/brake/tail light.

LOL...how many mechanics do we know who are on their third or fouth wife and several DV entries?  But they probably have the knack for making a vehicle drive like brand new when they touch it.  Well, except for their own...LOL!

I poped a guy last night for failure to pay toll.  Ended up stroking him 5 total tickets.  I prolly should have taken him to jail, but then my back up wouldnt have any back up so I let him go with 5 tickets.

Don't get complacent. Most LEOs are killed in small towns and rural areas, where there is little or no backup, or backup is simply too far away. Its easy to let the boredom lull you into a false sense that nothing is going to happen.

Here ya go...8/27...State trooper stops a Silverado around 440am on I81 for several traffic violations.  Occupants consent to search.  Wanna guess?

$1.1 Million in cash
20 lbs high grade Mairjuana (est $90-100K)
assortment of weapons  (from one pic...might be tec 9s) .50 caliber ammunition and replacement barrels for assault rifles and pistols

believed to be headed from Tampa to upstate NY.

PSP says they get about five to seven drug busts a year in midstate.

Didn't have a whole lot going on tonight...   except on my way home I got pulled over.  I have a license plate light out.

Exactly.  You'd think the people that know they're wanted would make the extra effort to ensure their vehicles don't have any reasons to be pulled over for, but that's just not the case...

I wouldn't edit it... it was kind of funny.

Him: "Hows it go...oh...    ....    you on your way home from work?"

Me: Yep

Him:  "Okay, have a nice night."
