My first full week off in more than three years. I have amazed myself. I remember way back when at the old joint in MS, hearing an older officer say of a vacation that he didn't even want to see a fucking police car on the road while he was off. I was utterly unable to fathom his statement, or the sentiment behind it. But right now, I am so fucking sick of this place that I know EXACTLY what he meant. I have gone so far as to get off my ass today and find a new window for my truck, my nasty-ass, stinking, about to die, no AC having, rattling piece of shit truck, because I want to be so much away from this shit that with the exception of driving it to the junkyard to round up a window this afternoon, I am not even going to drive my unmarked take-home while I am off, just because it is a fucking police car. I'll sweat it out in the truck instead. |
