Looking for a pen style that will hold up to sweat, heat and general patrol duty. Anyone know of any?

I found some very cheap looking ones from TheSpyStore, with "rechargeable" batteries. My experience with these types of no-name gadgets is limited, and I'm not to keen on spening the $170 on an untested product.

Why has'nt one of the big names built a DVR on a watch platform?

Due to a few issues at my current department I just purchased an Olympus WS-100. It is about the size of a small cell phone. I have only carried it to work once, but so far it has worked great. It will record for 27 hours and you can download recordings to your PC. I want to get a clip or cell phone case and attach it to the front of my belt. It's bigger than what you were looking for, but the total size is about 1 by 3 1/2 or 4 inches. The total cost was about $90.

I was issued an Olympus at work.  I love it.  I forget the model #, but is about like OneDozen stated.  Works great.

I really reccomend the one I bought. I used it in a meeting today and everything was crystal clear. I still don't have a case for it, so I just left it in my front pants pocket.  The meeting was in a rather large office 12X 15 or so with 4 of us there. The people on the other side of the rooms voices were clear. The speaker on the recorder is not very loud, but when I came home and downloaded it it was perfect.

$96.00?  I think Phoenix PD just spent over $300 a unit for the same one.  I'll have to check the model number, but they bought a couple thousand.
