which company do you order online from most. I use mostly galls. |
|
Since the company you named reams everyone out pretty good on prices, I prefer GT Distributors for online. Though in police equipment, I actually have a joint around here that's cheaper than online. Whelen Talon LED from Gall's=$269.99 +S&H Whelen Talon LED from Deckbar 911 Supply=$180 (Both prices for dual model.) (The only thing I can get cheaper by ordering is uniforms, since we have only one authorised uniform contractor and they jack the prices up for us. Better to get the same thing from Quartermaster.) |
+1 I have the master catalog from Gall's just to see what catches my attention, then I let my fingers do the walking on the net to see who has it cheaper. |
Same here. Google is your friend. Art in KY |
I love going to Streicher's, so much fun stuff They seem to overprice some stuff at the store, though. |

Do LE distributers come to departments and compete for sales like fire distributers do? My department (Volunteer, 50 firefighters) gets 4-6 visits monthly from distributers reps.... and when it comes time to buy gear if we are buying a lot we usually get them bidding against each other. |
I like Streichers too...however...I haven't been to the MN store, only the one in WI, and they don't put prices on ANYTHING in the store. Irritates the hell out of me. VJ |
Yep...GT's has always done me right! www.gtdist.com/Default.aspx ETA: bil85, Welcome to the board.

Some of the stuff can be a little higher than some of the places on the internet, but when you figure in shipping it's still about the same. When we either order or go to the store, we talk to our sales rep and he'll give us a discount on our purchase. He's pretty good about that. It's tough for them to beat some of the prices on gun stuff found through most of the dealers on AR15.com, but with their gear they seem to do alright. The other thing to check at the store is the clearance rack up front. Last time I was in there, I picked up an Elbeco Reversable Pull-Over Fleece jacket, which normally sells for $100, for $10. I'm signed up with Brigade Quartermaster's LE program. I can go to their website, sign in, and get reduced prices on gear also. I think it took off around $5, or so, off of my 5.11 Class B pants that I ordered. |
