Just go to your nearest Police station, and ask the friendly attendant.

Many warrants are non-expeditable, so even though you have one, there may not be any mention of it.

Aside from getting pulled over, Is there a websight or a number you can call?
If there is, will it check all LEO orginazations? Or is there one for each.....county, city, federal?
Does the background check when you purchase a firearm do all of that for you?

OK, now the reason I ask is because I got pulled over two years ago and turns out I had a warrent from back in 99. However about a month before I got a ticket for jaywalking in the same state, went to court, and there was no mention of it. Also prior to the arrest I had several background checks conducted and none turned it up either (securety clearance and several firearm purchases). Which brings us to the question above. I never received any type of notification about  having a warrent and nothing surfaced until about 3 years later after several traffic stops and such? Why did that happen? I was told at the time of arrest that It had been state wide since 99??

If you really wanna know go down to your local PD and ask them to run you!

I actually have had a guy stop me and ask if I could check to see if he had a warrant... he did. There is a back story to this, most of you know the story I am sure -- but I thought is so odd as it was happening...

In my county you can call the sheriffs office and the dispatcher will run you for locals. Or anyone else if you tell them thats who you are.....

Don't know why it didn't come up on a drivers license check...unless the officer just checked for "locals". Another possibility is that the officer did find out about the warrant, but unless the warrant is confirmed (through the originating agency), it can't be served. In a nutshell, what that means is that unless the dispatcher (or whoever) can actually go to the filing cabinet and retrieve the actual warrant, you can't be arrested (theoretically).

If you are concerned about a warrant (for future reference, of course) you can call the agency (or court) of where the warrant may have originated and ask them.

P.S.-No more "beer meetings" at Chili's if you're wanted.

Ok so what all does the background check determine? When purchasing a firearm
Doesn't that check the federal and local databases with your social to check for anything????
