OK, I am starting to get used to folding myself up like a pretzel to get in and out of this car. In the 14 years I have been on this Dept we have run only Crown Vic's. My question is this: Anybody else on this forum drive a 2004 Chevy Police Package Impala and if you do, does it make some noises from behind the dash on different occasions when you drive around town and then apply the brakes? The one I have doesn't do it all the time, and mostly when braking in town at normal speeds. The noise almost sounds like some sort of electric motor and only lasts about 1-2 seconds and it doesn't do it all the time. I was wondering if anybody else has experienced this weird noise? |

Yep, My 03 does, and my 01 did the same thing. I've always thought it is some sort of self test on the ABS system during times of braking when the ABS is not needed. When you cram the brakes and actually activate the ABS, you'll hear the same thing, but only 100 times stronger. You're good to go. Jay |

We have a 2001 Impala which is only to be driven on dayshift. nobody likes the impala it has only 17,000 miles. Our 2003 Crown Vic has 28,000 miles. My opinion is tha t the impala should not be a patrol car it has no room after the shield is installed if we ride a two man car we are shoulder to shoulder. Just give me the 95 or 96 caprice which ever was the last year it was produced. |
