Surefire Low-Light Instructor Course The University of North Alabama Department of Public Safety in conjunction with the Surefire Institute and the Firearms Training Associates will host a Surefire Low-Light Instructor Course on July 7-8, 2004, at Flowers Hall Room #303. Class will begin at 11:00 AM on July 7, 2004. The course will be taught by Bill Murphy, Huntington Beach, CA SWAT member and Surefire Institute Instructor. Tuition for the course is $250.00 per participant. Tuition for the course will include refreshments, hand-outs, manuals, etc. All paying participants will receive a Surefire G2Z Combat light with carrier ($105.00 value) free from Surefire. The purpose of the training class is to expose the student to the proper use of the flashlight and weapon in a low light environment, use of force techniques, force on force entry situations and building searching technique. After completing the course, the instructor will be able to return to their department and teach the low-light tactics and skills. The Surefire Institute has been the leader in flashlight training and instructor development. Class size is limited to 25 participants. Register early to ensure a spot. Registration deadline is June 1, 2004. The University of North Alabama Department of Public Safety will invoice in June for course fees. The University of North Alabama can provide dorm-type lodging for participants at the cost of $17.00 per day. The rooms can be utilized in single or double occupancy for the same cost. Each participants needs to bring: · Pistol · Duty Belt · Equipment Flashlight · Body Armor · Eye and ear protection The course has been approved by A.P.O.S.T.C. for 16 hours of CEU credits.
