I have posted a couple other threads in the M16 Forums, but I figured I better come here and introduce myself.

I am an Officer with a medium sized Ohio city.  Firearms Instructor, Department Colt armorer, Bike instructor, SWAT operator, and now a newly appointed Sniper.

I am married and have our first child due in April.

I really look forward to swaping stories and info with you guys!

Welcome to our corner of the site.
Congrats on the upcoming birth of your child. This is a nonsmoking forum so cigars are out. We do accept USGI mags NIW though! [:D]

Welcome to the site. I find great comfort in coming here and being able to talk to like minded individuals, who have been there and done that.

I too am married, and we are expecting our first (a boy), in a couple of weeks. Congrats, to you and yours!

Not to worry, LPD. My wife already has him married off to one of her friends daughters.

Glad I'm having a boy, saves me from having to pull duty as "shotgun daddy".

reminds me of a story a guy at work told me the other day...  He used to date a cop's daughter when he was in high school.  He told me when he went to pick her up the first time, her dad met him at the door.  He gave him "the look" and then explained the way things would be to him.  Said he took a bullet out of his pocket and asked the kid what his initials were.  He wrote the kids initials on the bullet and then handed it to him.  "Put this in your pocket son, and when you bring my daughter back give it back to me. My daughter is to be home at 10:00.  also if you have any ideas about kissing...touching or anything else with my daughter you think about what I just gave you.  I have another bullet just like that one."

He was so nervous he wouldn't touch the girl and he had her home by 8:30.... LOL

Great story LPD! Striker, sounds like you're on the right track with your daughter. Will she make black belt before "dating?"

I'm just a lowly medic, but I hang out here too.  Glad to have you around.  My wife and I just had our first daughter 2/20.  It's been an adventure this far, but tons of fun.  I've been amazed at how much my life has changed in the last week.

Congrats on the newest addition to your family! Are you getting any sleep? I can't wait for mine to get here, as a matter of fact, I spent most of the day working on the nursery!

I don't consider medics "lowly". I have the utmost respect for all emergency services personnel, you guys see people at their worst, just like us LEO's.

WRONG, ain't nothing lowly about your job, if it weren't for you and your brothers and sisters out there, a lot of people would never see home again.

No such thing as a lowly medic, Brother.  Medics have stopped me from leaking more than once; when they could have staged until the scene was safe, but came in anyway to help.  Medics are always welcome in my book.

Medics save lives, EMTs save medics.

Just something from a lowly EMT :)

dep4532..I hope so. It's a battle of the wits to get her to go sometimes but once she gets there..she doesn't want to leave. As for being on the right track..she just convinced her mother to sign her up for guitar lessons......*help* [:D]

How many phone calls do you tactically transfer?

Sorry, couldn't resist.
