| ... Any suggestions? |

A good pair of knee high rain boots and a plastic bin to store them in her trunk. For those really groovy crime scenes.
A really nice engraved name plate for her desk. Make sure it's says Det. "first name initial" and "last name". A rain suit (that meets nhtsa/ osha reflective req.) and a divers board (for taking notes) when she has to work out in inclement weather. Galls or LA Gear would have lots of choices. Personalized leather portfolio for business cards and important papers (Miranda waivers, witness statement forms, etc). |
A gym membership... Everyone that goes to the Det. Bureau puts on a quick 30 as soon as they transfer
On a serious note, maybe a small pocket sized flashlight or a smaller rechargeable light and belt holster. Detectives usually don't wear the bat belt and a lot of departments don't issue that kinda stuff. I have had to loan a flashlight to our guys many times because their stinger is in the door of their car or tucked between the seats. |

nice pocket size flashlight, I use the FourSevens Quark with the single cell body with a 14500 and deep carry pocket clip, plenty bright and good battery life, fits perfect into my left front pants pocket...I want to kill the fucktards in my office because nobody else ever has a light when we go out and shit goes down....nothing better than seeing the "cream of the crop" using cell phone lights at crime scenes or when tossing a car, haha
all jokes aside though, not having a light is a SERIOUS safety issue and most detectives (suits) don't carry one |

I spent a ton on cool holsters, clothes, etc. I just bought a surefire EB2 and use it all the time. |

I just bought a second Lumintop AAA light on Amazon because I got a small discount for buying the first one. It's a small light with a tail clicky for 19 bucks and 110 lumens. I am in uniformed special ops so it goes in the small pouch for my trauma plate but it would be great and cheap to feed for a plain clothes detective |
