For those of you who have one, how did you organize your trunk? Ideally I'd like to keep things as light and easily removable as possible, as I seem to go through streaks of luck when it comes to flat tires (none for a year, then three in ten days ), and with the tire storage being under the trunk floor, I'd like a storage solution that I can slide in and out of the trunk opening. Whether it's mounted to the vehicle or not doesn't matter.

Right now it's looking like a few Rubbermaid under-the-bed storage bins will fit the bill, at least temporarily. Anyone have better ideas?

We have all out radio stuff up top on a pull out shelf. That's it. Then we have our heavy vests, helments, breaching kit, active shooter bag and first aid kit, stacked so that they come out in the order that you would need them. We also throw a box of flares and roll of police line tape on the side of trunk.

As I recall we could not find an actual organizer that we felt would work with the equipment that we carry in our cars. Our Vics (the couple we still have) and Tahoes have a different organizers in them that work for them.

I think some kind of latching wheeled container like this would be perfect. I just need something to keep the loose miscellaneous crap together. I don't have any cool guy stuff back there (maybe one day) but all of my regular patrol stuff (scene tape, dust kit, road flares, etc) are in a big steel organizer that was in ,my old car when I got it. It will fit in my new trunk but I wouldn't be able to get anything out of it without taking the whole thing out and setting it on the ground.

As best I can tell, the measurements line up on the box I pictured to give me roughly half the trunk space left over for bigger items I don't necessarily worry about, like my flare box, floor jack, active shooter rig, etc. I keep a medium-sized cooler in my car too with my prepped meals and lots of drinks, but I think that will have to go on the passenger side floor now.
