Just wanted to show my support to you guys who are in harms way every time you walk out the door. There is absolutely no reason for the recent animosity and violence towards peace officers.
Be safe and take care! |

You guys put your butts on the line everyday, and deal with people and things that I can't even imagine doing myself. Without you, this country would be vastly different in horrible ways. For all of the things that you do, I simply and humbly say THANK YOU. Merry Christmas to all of you, and try to stay safe during these trying times. |

I put this in another thread that no one apparently likes, so I'll drop it here too.
I post in a fair amount of threads on the Fire/EMS side of things here, I even chime in on a lot of the IFAK discussions for the law enforcement community here. But, as a Firefighter/Medic with a brother who is a cop, I realize that I will never truly understand how difficult your job is. Now, as citizens are out chanting about killing cops, and crazy people are following through with the threats, your job has become even harder. You are getting questioned at every turn, being accused of being racist, getting Monday morning quarterbacked for months for situations that took seconds, and getting painted as being corrupt, evil and a protected class. I don't envy you the turmoil that has been thrust upon you. What I do admire though is the steadfast dignity and honor you continue to show as you guys and girls go about putting on the uniform, badge and belt every morning, evening and night. I have heard more than one of you say that you haven't backed down from any of these criminals before and that you won't start now. I have heard people answer the question of whether this has made you consider quitting, with "if anything it makes me want to put on the uniform even more." I know most of you are aware that there are people out there that do appreciate you and thank you for your service, but I think at times like these it is more important to let you all know and hear that we are here. We do appreciate what you all do. We do stand behind you and beside you. I personally want to say thanks, to the men and women walking a beat in the areas of "unrest", to the ones driving their zones in the middle of BFE, and all of you in between. You guys have a hard job, one that I don't think I could do, and that I know I certainly couldn't do as well if I did. We need you guys, and we appreciate you. Stay safe out there. Everybody goes home. |
