I got a call last week from the HR Lt. down at the Sheriff's office who's doing my application. I have already done a poly, Psyc and now they're finished with my background, but the undersheriff wants me to come in and poly a couple of questions. No big deal, really, nothing to hide, stuff I already talked about.  So I go in, talk to the poligrapher for a half an hour and then they say " you look fine, I don't need to run another chart on you". then I wait for the Hr guy to meet with me again. Half an hour of waiting later, he walks me to the back and right into the undersheriffs office! No prep time for that one! 15 minute interview with three guys and it's all done, they wil let me know in a few days how I did...

Sounds like a good thing to me.  If they weren't interested, they wouldn't have waisted the time or money on the second polygraph, which was probably just to clear up some things that came up inconclusive in the first one.  On top of that, the short interview makes it sound like it was just a formality and they already had made up their minds.  I'd say "Congratulations" right now but if I'm wrong, I don't want to build your hopes up.  Good Luck!

My guess is it was all about the last interview and not even the information you gave, but by surprising you and putting you in a Tense situation where you were outnumbered  they could see how you would react.
