Any brothers using tool fuels in saws? Our repair division switched over a couple years ago and the maintenance has reduced, but functionality has suffered IMO. They seem harder to start and idle out sometimes when cold. We do start them every week and run them until hot. The maintenance division does not share my opinion on it.
For somewhere in the neighborhood of $50 per gallon I thinks it's a waste of money. I've had no problem with gasoline and my saws run like champs at home on it. Any experience good or bad? |

Below is their site.
site Yeah its the premixed stuff. I cannot find the actual cost but I was told it was in the $50/gallon range. We switched about 2 years ago when we used to run pump gas with sea foam as stabilizer. I don't remember the brand of oil we used. |

I just looked, and our stuff is called 'MotoMix' and made (or at least branded) by Stihl. I've noticed no difference in performance from when we went from mixing our own to the pre-mix. I'm sure it costs more, but we are fairly slow department, so the increase in price is probably negligible, and might be worth it because it is ethanol-free (which is nonexistent around here.) I also laughed at the 'your fuel will become unstable 15 days after you buy it!' on their website. |
| We run motonix. Large department. I am in the station that does saw maint. Using it has eliminated most of our fuel based problems. It has stabilizer and a fuel system cleaner. We have noticed no change in running and given the ingredients I don't see how anyone else could see performance degradation from it. |
