There was a report in the NY Post that The newest recruit class of the NYPD (yes, the one I'm in) wouldn't be provided Vests by the time we graduated.  In which case we'd all be "skirts" at the differnt precincts we were at until Point Blank filled there order.  WELL, the good new is that Second Chance has stepped in.  I was remeasured for a vest today and was told this was because Second Chance was now supplying all the vests for the new Recruit Class.  With all the problems and bad press that PointBlank has been getting, I am so relieved to hear this.  I was going to shell out my own cash to get a Second Chance vest regardless that the NYPD was going to issue me the PointBlank vest for free, so this is a double bonus for me.  Just wanted to share. Second Chance is not only the original, it IS the best.  Rich Davis and his crew build the best, most comfortable high level of protection available.  Not only that, but Rich is a VERY strong supporter of our 2nd Amendment rights.

Hi All
NYPD had upwards of 5000 vests replaced or in process of accordind to fox news. Now mi state police say a brand of ammo defeated thier vests and want it banned. yep point blank. now thier buying second chance. was it a faulty vest or did MSP just want to screw with ammo maker? I contacted there PO sgt. and advised him of the NYPD vest thing. HE said SO WHAT I DON'T WEAR ONE ANYWAY. I pointed out that his desk sitting ass was not on the line . Then I notified the troopers assoc. hope they have a better attitude. Advise your locals perhaps put out over LIEN , it's the road guys butt. not admim.

police are citizens with more responsibility

Second Chance is the best vest period.

There is some new type of ammo which I'm not going to name the brand here because of some that are not LEO friendly.  However, the ammo is a bit hard to find.

Secondly, Winchester had already announced about two years ago that their Ranger SXT 127gr +P+ (law enforcement) 9mm ammo could defeat SOME cheap and more popular vests.  The good news is that Winchester does not sell, nor have they ever sold that particular load to the retail market and general public.  It's for LEO agencies only.

The even better news, is that Second Chance's 3rd generation and higher vests WILL STOP that Ranger 9mm +P+ load.

Thank God for Richard Davis and his Second Chance company.
