Do you guys wear eye pro while on the job? I'll be the first to admit that I don't. I wear sunglasses while outdoors but when we go inside, they come off.

The other week I helped a guy who wrecked his bike at a off road event. He coughed and shot some blood up at my face. The only thing that saved me from an exposure was my sunglasses.

I need to get a set of clear eye pro for work. Any suggestions?

I enjoy the wiley X ones due to the built in sweat guard.

As a street cop, I never did.  I made it a habit to toss my sunglasses on the dash whenever I got out of the patrol car.

Try looking at these as well: https://www.smithoptics.com/products/#/sunglasses/Mens/

They do a Smith Optics Pro program: https://www.smithoptics.com/proapp/signup.php
Cutting your price around 50%.

Having used and still using eye pro, I have been through a bunch of different glasses, mostly Oakleys, and these by far are the most comfortable glasses I have ever worn:

They are Polarchromic Copper Mirror or whatever color you want, which means they lighten up when you go from outside to inside or vice versa. Kinda of like transition lenses.

I never take my glasses off unless I am going into a dark area with no ambiant light.

But the OakleySI is what I used to use.

Thanks guys. I'll look into those. My current glasses are smith models with replaceable lenses. I like the fact that if they get scratched, you can swap them out.

I wear oakley flak jackets for my sunglasses and I do carry and use clear balistic safety glasses on entries/raids etc. However I do not wear anything if I am just out on a call.

One other approach, just for info sake.

While I haven't done it yet, it is a line of thought in my acting  that if I need a particular style of glasses for a part, to get the plain glass version and have my contact lenses in underneath. It was a follow up analysis to when I started acting and only wore glasses to get sets in one or two other styles for different parts as they came up.

Personally, if the reason is for eye protection, then I would go in the direction of glasses designed for that purpose......but if there other motivations or conflicting motivations then perhaps....................................

My current smith's have the copper/rose lenses. They work awesome in most conditions but, like you said, in low light not so good.

Right now I am lucky and have pretty good vision. No contacts or glasses.

OKAY!

Then take measures to protect that "perfect" vision.

Edit: One other thing, more direct to the OP. One of my jobs is a scuba diver and of course, I wear a mask for that. But instead of wearing my contact lenses, which could potentially be lost in a mask flood/loss, underwater, I've had my prescription placed in my mask. Took some time, cost some bucks, but to be able see clearly underwater is a dream!

How much is it worth to one to see well on the job? How much is it worth to one to continue to see after the job?

I work in a factory, so eye protection is a requirement. They will give you non-prescription safety glasses for free, and will cover prescription safety glasses up to $45. They have an in-house optician that has a pretty nice selection of prescription glasses that are covered 100%. I know it's two completely different lines of work, but it's hard to do any kind of work if you put an eye out, so even if they didn't require it, I'd still probably wear them.

I wear Oakley Flak Jackets. I only like them because I can change the lens. Most of the time, my shades are sitting on top of my head. I only put them over my eyes in situations where I want/need to look around without letting the subject know what i'm really looking at.

I really like those Oakley cerakotes. Only issue I see is you cannot replace the lenses. I would be afraid I would scratch them and be out a new pair of glasses.
