| I am attending an upcoming NRA LE Pistol Instructors School and wanted to know if anyone could shed some light on this course. The online course description is very vague. Mentions classroom work and range work followed up with a written and proficiency exam to graduate. What course of fire will we shoot? How is the class overall? Any information would be greatly appreciated. |

Good class, we shot revolvers and semi autos. I have been to six now, Rifle, Shotgun, PPIH, PPOTH Pistol and Reloading. Out of the three coaches, I have had one who really drummed in the how to teach aspect. He is a great coach.
My old Dept sent me to Firearms Instructor school, having a few NRA disciplines helped me a lot. It help me get picked over Officers that had much more time in and when I went to the two week school I was up to speed the first day. Day two the Instructors jumped light years ahead. The Range time was fun, heck any time at the range is great. It cured lots of my bad habits and made a better shooter. Tell you the truth, I have gotten to the point where I almost like teaching more than shooting. |
