Does anyone know if there are any deals on these right now? I just graduated from my fire academy, and am looking for a good helmet light. A lot of people in my department use the streamlight headband thing and big tube lights, but I like the small compact light. Plus I've used the TLR-1 on my Glock and like it very much (and it seems the Vantage is almost the same thing just in a different form factor).

$120 at the firestore.com (not on sale right now).

$118 at allhandsfire.com plus 10% off with the coupon code on the page.

It's a nice light.

Well, just ordered one from Public-safety.com for $102. I also picked up 20' of 1" webbing and a locking carabiner. Those are the 3 things I've been told are must haves on the fire ground.

There is some good info in here on things that might be handy to have:

Alright, I got it, but now I can't find a good place to mount it. I'm using a Cairns 360S structural helmet with the 4" face shield. I've tried all over, but can't find a good place that puts the beam where I want it. Should I just say screw it, any light is better then no light? Or has anyone found the sweet spot for this light and helmet combo (and no, a new helmet isn't possible, I get what I get).

Just looked up that helmet on thefirestore.com, with such a slope on the back brim i really don't know what to tell ya.  It sure wouldn't work light up but you might be able to fit it on right behind the shield hinge light down.  I don't know if its even possible but maybe switch to a goggle setup and mount it in front of the hinge.  I almost ran into this problem when i tried to mount my surefire w/ blackjack mount on my Cairns Invader w/ shield.

Well, I ended up putting it right in front of the visor, and the visor will close most of the way. I"ll be getting my yellow helmet within a week, so it might be a goggle set up.
