Just got back from a trauma call and we had to strip a patient down and this tool worked miraculously.  On top of that, while I was cutting, I was able to use it to open up the portable O2.  I have been waiting to test it and it worked great!  Now, for the best feature, when you get off shift, you can use it open up a beer.

Some of my guys have been carrying them for a number of years and really like them. I can tell because they are always pissed when they lose them.

Interesting. So it will cut clothes well? Where is the best place to get one? what do they run? I could not find a price at the link. Thanks

They are $30 MSRP and $21 if you create an account on benchmade's website as a public service officer.  They cut through jeans as if they weren't there.

While not the same tool, I love the benchmade seatbelt cutter the army gave me. Cuts seatbelts and clothes like butter. I was even able to cut an old pair of leather boots from the cuff right to the sole in one pull. Great stuff.

When sharp (new) it cuts like that.  If you try to use it to cut through wire, it will get dull and not cut like that

I used to have a letter opener with a recessed razor blade in a plastic credit card holder to cut away medical tape on trauma boards. Management had a tizzy fit with that alone. That device would peg the meter for them. Looks great and would be tempted to use one in a professional capacity. Have a couple of Benchmades and enjoy them.

I rock a 7 hook on my tac gear, and would love to kill two birds with one stone and find a custom leatherworker who could reproduce my leather LSP 6P pouch with a 7 hook sheath built in.

I worked in a jail and carried one.  Great for suicides and shakedowns (used to cut open bedding/mats).  Guys from all over the jail that knew I had it would call me and ask to borrow it.
