Howdy everyone.
www.promotive.com This is a super cool site that allows professionals access to top of the line gear at very good prices. Fire, LEO, EMS, military, etc can log in and apply for a "team". Once they confirm your status as a professional you will have access to the website. It is well worth your time to sign up. If you would like an invite PM me with your email and your profession and I will send you one. EDT: I forgot to mention I have no affiliation with the site I am just wanting to get the word out if people are looking to save some $$$ |

Ive gotten my team approved and all that. Seems like some good deals out there. Even if you are not the woodsy outdoors type, you certainly can look and dress like it on the cheap.
If you dont mind me asking, what incentive is it to send out invites? Just wondering before I pitch it to some guys at work. IM me if you want. O. and thanks for posting this. I would have never known about it. |

I use Promotive. Some discounts are better than others. The Leupold 40% off pricing is worthwhile. My buddy bought a set of their military bino's last year. They are a very nice set of bino's.. uhhh i drool over those constantly... The knife discounts from the big three vendors are also pretty badass. I also picked up a couple pairs of multicam pants at a serious discount. half off a seal pup is some serious coin, even if it does start at msrp |

If so which company was that? |

Has anybody gotten the vertex pants in hand yet? What is the material like? Would you suggest it for HOT weather wear? Yes I picked up two pairs. so far. Its a little bit misleading since the different color pants can also use a completely different fabric blend and weight. For example the 50/50 Nylon and Cotton ripstop pair that I bought in multicam, are very lghtweight and breathable and ddefinitely woudl make excellent warm weather pants. I was also looking at a couple of pairs that I could use for both work as part of my uniform pants EMS and also as a decent pair of black pants that will conceal EDC without that ridiculous dorky tactial tony everyone look at me kinda deal. The black 98 cotton 2 lycra are a completely different material (obviously) as well as a different cut. they are ddefinitely a heavier fabric, and frankly I don't like them nearly as much. When I work in the hospital I'm usually in Dockers and then scrubs, and finish the day back into jeans or the like. I found the heavier duty pants to actually be a little to low profile for actual EMS work with the subdued pockets and kinda tucked in cargo pockets and whatever and also just work pants for every day wearing. I was much happier changing into a more utility style work pant and then just changing out into jeans/cargos whatever at the end of the day. the 50/50 blend however are absolutely awesome pants! Like I said they are ddefinitely on the lightweight side with ripstop and all. but the pockets are well thought out and not bulky, plenty of 5.11 style features wthout looking silly, and the fabric is really awesome. Its basically light enough to jsut crumple into a stuff sack and hook onto the motorcycle and then press them out by hand ocne you get to where you need them and they wear just fine. I actually took teh time to read a comparison of all these new style 5.11 type pants since I never bothered with anything like them before day to day, and im very happy with Vertyx as were the reviews. They have some kind of unique stiching method 'gussetted crotch' that adds a little more space at the bottom of the pant which is really nice trust me. apparently its expensive to sew them this way so thats why not many othe vendors do it. hope this helps. |

Its says Federal LE and Mil only, are you guys one of those two or do they just do it on the honor system? |

I placed my first couple orders so we'll see how it works. I ordered some sunglasses for the wife unit (this brand allows purchases for family) and the price really was fantastic. I also ordered a Vertx polo shirt for work to wear under my external vest carrier, and this also appears to be priced much lower than is available anywhere else but the shipping and 'special' handling fee eat up much of the discount. I'll guess that ordering more than one would make it a better deal though.
Unlike a lot of LE discounts, this stuff is (generally) fairly specialized in nature and fairly high quality. There are also specific limitations with most of the brands, which makes sense. I don't see myself buying a lot of stuff here, but there are definitely some cool things to be had. |

10 days later, my order is still processing for a Camelbak. Is this common? While I don't know if it's common, there seems to be a lot of disclaimers: don't inquire about an order status for 30 days, allow 4 weeks for processing, etc....... The sunglasses I ordered on Sunday shipped today. |

10 days later, my order is still processing for a Camelbak. Is this common? yes, they say that as soon as you click on the company logo. There is about a week delay generally. I'm currently waiting on some SOG stuff. They also caution against returns, I would definitely call the vendor directly if your thinking of buying a bunch of clothing or the like, I had to return some stuff from vertyx (they run small) and I'm happy I called the company first. they will have no idea what promotive is or what you talking about most likely, since to them I think its basically like getting a referral code in their order, but just make sure to tell them that your ordering from them and that they take your name and confirm that they will be able to take a return if need be just to be safe. also tothemax, you know that you don't have to go through all the trouble with invites for people to still be able to join, they can always sign up on their own through the site itself. |

Camelbak took about four weeks to process my order. I called at the four week mark and was told to just wait. It did finally go through though. On camelbak stuff though search around it's not always cheaper through ptomotive depending on what you order. Thanks for the heads up. I only got a cheap reservoir to replace one I lost in my pack. It was my first order through the promotive so I got something cheap encase it didn't work out I would not be out any large money. |
