It's been a rough week for us in the St. Louis area.  An officer from a local agency had his 3yo son got a hold of one of his handguns while he was at work.  The officer was the first responding officer to the scene.

Guys, I like guns as much as the next guy, but when you have children or have children around your house please, please lock them up or secure them some how.  My prayers go out to this officer and his family
The second thing is one of my best friends was involved in a terrible vehicle accident Tuesday night.  He was driving his POV off duty and was struck by a suspected DUI female that was traveling in excess of 100mph according to witness statements.  He is in a drug induced coma at this point, with massive internal injuries along with other problems.  He had a second surgery today, and is now listed in Serious condition.

Please pray for Mike and his family.  Also be sure to buckle up, it might not have changed everything, but it wouldn't of hurt.

The thing that bothers me the most is that with kids at home you can't leave guns lying around and there are so ways to secure them properly. If you are not there to use it it does not need to be loaded and should be in a safe or a lock box. This poor guy is going to live the rest of his life blaming himself for this and it could have been prevented.
