Any agencies out there using the .22 conversion kits in their ARs for practice with the dept? Want to promote it to my chief and I need something to support my asking. Any likes or dislikes? I will of course let him know that it is cheaper to practice with the .22 ammo.
Also if there are any suggestions as to which kit is the better quality. Thank you |

Thank you all for input. I was actually looking at the CMMG kit myself personally. That'll be my Xmas gift for me. I know you guys recommend this kit but are you actually using them for work (practice).
Rock 71: I know said you were but with a glock. I want to "TELL" him that there are other agencies doing this. Just more ammo for me for when I present this to him. |

Oh well I tried. He didn't want to do it due to hearing stories of people forgetting to change out the bolts and using the wrong ammo while the different bolt was still in there.. Liability issues. Thank you guys. I tried. Still getting one for myself. Should have asked him to demonstrate that to you
Oh well. |
| I used a .22 conversion several years ago but I hated cleaning the crap out of the barrel and receivers. Most .22 ammo is very dirty so I will not shoot it in a weapon I depend on with my life with its function. I bought a S&W M&P15-22 and leave the conversions alone. Just my .02. |

That would be a neat trick.
How hard is it to get everyone on line and load correctly before you leave the range? Hint: they should be doing that anyway. True but then leave it up to the one person to mess it up for everyone. I'm fixing to be the new firearms instructor here at my agency so I will always check everyone to an extent. Can't always hold their hand! |

Agree but I don't mind the cleaning and I do keep my weapons spotless. Thanks for your .02. |
