Gents,
A very dear friend (ex girlfriend, maybe again-girlfriend in the future) has picked up some kind of stalker. Some language in the note makes me VERY nervous. She got a note on her car windshield today that says, 'I watch you from your apartment I your pussy and good does it taste good' (sic) The vulgarity of the language is what strikes the fear in me the most. Obviously this person knows which car is hers, and probably which apartment as well. She's single, no real defensive training and no weapons. She's also hours away from me, with no real close friends or guy friends. I've already told her to contact the police, and I'm trying to come up with some kind of defensive option. Please help. |

For starters, have her call the police and get a paper trail started on the creep. If, God forbid, she kills or even hurts the scumbag, she'll be partly covered.
Then get her into a "Condition Yellow" mentality. Then get her some Fox brand OC spray. |
| We just got a recent case law decision that (For folks in the 9th circus court) says if the communication is by note, text, email, or phone, unless it is in someway threatening that it is considered free speech and protected by the 1st ammendment.....I see yer from Virginia, so perhaps it is different there....Unfortunantly if this were Oregon, nothing we could do about it. |

In NC we have a harassment statute as well as a stalking statute.

She doesn't know who left the note right now. She's an extremely attractive female, and she is a heartbreaker. She constantly is turning guys down, I don't doubt it is someone who either got rejected or has seen her around the apt complex and she just doesn't know who he is. I'm still waiting to hear more back from her. |
