One of the guys I was in academy dropped out right before graduation to go to the secret service academy. He said it was really demanding mentally and physically. He was one of the more fit guys in our academy and said he was having a hard time. I will keep that in mind. Thanks. |

Quoted: I think that's it. If you had lazik, it has to be something like 18-24 months prior.Quoted: IIRC, vision requirement was kinda strict. 20/60 uncorrected. I think I am 20/30ish ? uncorrected.. I have to double check. ETA: If you had a TS clearance, there are plenty of security companies that pay good $$$ in the DC area for security officers. Lot of the positions is armed too. |
| Plenty of OT, lots of travel during campaign season. Lots of standing halls and walls and working gates too. There are some cool opportunities, some kind of tac team, counter-snipers, motorcycle unit. Many folks do use it as a foot in the door for an 1811 position somewhere. Ain't a bad gig. |

IIRC, vision requirement was kinda strict. I had the job, but got knocked out because of the vision thing. The guy that gave me the offer told me to go get Lasik, and then call the local USSS office and let them know that I was kosher. Before I could scrounge the cash to do it, I got a letter saying that the position had been filled. |

friend of mine works for them. I hope you like being more of a security guard than real police... a well paid security guard that is... Need to get in the K-9 unit or one of the TAC teams or you will be sitting posts till you grow old, buying McDonalds on 17th street and 7-11 on 19th street after hours. |
