Reminds me when I was a teen and we were coming back from a JROTC tournament (or was it 6 Flags?). Assuming the former, it was drill team and rifle team and I was on the latter. At any rate, we stopped at a strip of fast foods and it was like an international buffet! Got several things from several parts of the world.......in concept at least.
I don't eat like that anymore and I avoid fast food places like the plague unless I am told to go there or I am being polite. Essentially, I see them as food meant for 20 year olds who will burn it off quickly....and I'm not 20 anymore. Although my eating habits may not have improved that much.........just my financial ones. One of the nice skills I left the Navy with was that of a financial counselor; sometimes, something came out useful while being the dirty little jobs officer. A, B, and C. A: at an average of $3.50/meal at a fast food place, one would exhaust their BAS/COMRATS in under ten days, far shorter than a month that it was meant to cover. B: Most restaurants operate on a bill of a minimal (fast food) 3X of what it costs to do it at home. C: It is far more economical to buy from the store and if one does it wisely and/or with others, pooling resources, they can make something of a killing. Sorry about getting wordy, but I got on a roll. I'm sorry for your loss......but I'm sure a new one will be around very soon. _____________________________________________ ("Surprise! Wasn't KFC's motto "Do one thing and do it right." ?
The last time I went into one of those "Ketacohut"'s, they were screwing up every order. When I finally got my yard buzzsrd, it looked & tasted like it had been laying on the hood of a car for two days!
That was 5 years ago & I haven't been back. |

About a month ago I did a ridealong with my cousin (smaller dept in OK). We compared notes and found out neither one of us could eat at the same restaurants, in different states, cities and working for much different depts. because we had to lock up employees. Arby's was the only safe one we had in common. |
