Any states have medical coverage included as part of your retirement package? not sure about state mandated but our contract has medical coverage for retiree's in it. Full coverage for employee, 1/2 coverage for spouse and I think it is 200 a month towards for qualifiying dependants. J- |

Insurance is offered at retirement rates, but it just about eats up your pension check if you buy it. The city PD gets retirement health insurance. That's the problem with ours where are you guys that either have to pay 100% or do not get retiree insurance as past of retirment? I dont know of many if any in our area that does NOT have retirement insurance at whatever rate you retire at. For me I will pay 1% of gross per year for the coverage that is listed in my previous post. Other depts may get it without any contribution others may be more that my 1% but none more that a couple of grand a year for a family. J- |
and see dollar signs when they think of what they can save on insurance for about 500-600 current and retired employee's
