| Any Border Patrol around?? I'm about to graduate college (august) and i am just looking at all of my options. Does the BP give any incentives for college grads? |

Quoted: I applied in July of 09 and passed the written exam in September. I haven't heard anything since and with the way things are going (budget cuts) I really don't expect to. Maybe in 2012 if the Kenyan doesn't get re-elected ![]() I passed the exam in August of 2008... |

Hopefully you will get the call before the proposed budget cuts are approved. What is your sector preference? |

If you have a 3.3 or 3.5, I forget which, you come in a step higher. Benefit is you will hit GS-11 a year earlier than your classmates, 2.5-3 years. That should put you at about 90/K before overtime if you choose to work it, higher if you work in an area with a larger COLA. BP is going to GS-12 Journeyman starting in April, so you can add another 10K to that. Another incentive is you can choose pretty much any Agency to work for if you think BP doesn't fit you, after you put some time in and get experience. It's a good gig, fun times. You should look into it. |

I know I keep saying this, but hang in there. It is worth the wait. |
