Hi. I'm new around here. Kinda. Been looking over my husband's (Amontgomery) shoulder for a while to see what he is dying with laughter at. I got him a Gold Membership on here for a surprise so he turned around and got me on here. Don't know what else to tell. My name "SpeechPathJunkie" relates to my field. I am a speech language pathologist. I just have to go get my masters degree. So if anyone has any questions about that kinda stuff I will try to help out.

This is coming from the person that get's called BES, Snow, and bunny.

To find out where the bunny comes from, come play with us ladies in HOTD. Her hunk of a man plays in there with us quite often, even if he is letting his thread go to waste.

Welcome to the site!!

Most folks call me Snow, and bunny just comes with the snow part. And Big Boy is neglecting his thread.
But at least Rictus can be counted on for pics!

Hello!  I'm also looking into a masters (but in biology).  Good luck with it, and welcome aboard.

Welcome! What kind of place do you work/think you'll work at? I worked clerical at an outpatient brain injury facility and we had two SPs. Very smart people.

Oh and WIN on th avatar! Love it!

Thanks all!

When I do get my masters (gotta apply first) I had planned on working in a school system. But where ever a job offer comes from we will move to. I love it. My younger brother was diagnosed with a language disorder when he was very young and had intense therapy everyday.

It took me forever to find the avatar small enough to use on here!! Just another hobby my husband has gotten me into.

I had to leave class to go to speech therapy with the mentally challenged kids when I was in first grade. Didn't need it.

Ya gotta be careful with those things. Can be good or bad depending on how its done.

Hello and welcome, SPJ!

That abbreviation reminds me of PBJ. Probably just hungry.

Welcome! I wasn't aware any states allowed you to be licensed as a SLP without finishing a master's program, that's pretty cool.

I can work under someone. Without a masters degree (Plus all my grad hours and getting my C's) I can work in a school system with a SLP that has their C's. We that don't have our masters yet are getting to do more just because the demand is so high with not enough SLP's out there.

ETA: I passed the PRAXIS I so I can teach also if I wanted to.

Gotcha. Good luck with your apps, the program is pretty rough but well worth it once you get your C's. My wife got hers about 5 years ago and the demand is still going strong.
