I hope I am not being, too overly happy. I am set to take the CCW class this coming Saturday. I know there is still a fair amout of time before I can carry (I am confident I will do well in the class, this "ain't my first rodeo" as they say), but it feels good to know my days of being an unarmed female out in the world are numbered. Prayers are appreciated! I will feel much better when I don't have to worry about my ex coming and finding me and being basically defenseless (I know he's stronger than me and I can't out-run him). Thankd, ladies for letting me babble on. -Ash |

A friend and instructor who teaches a local CCW/NRA personal protection course has certified over 1000 people and he has only failed two.
The first person he failed was an elderly lady who couldn't hit anywhere close to the target, pretty much 30" square at 7 yards. The second person was a guy who smelled like a distillery, was still drunk from the previous night's party and had trouble putting one foot in front of the other much less hit a target with a handgun. There was no refund for being stupid. |

I'll just have to keep my nerves in check, I did get to shoot this past weekend and I was extremely happy with how well I did considering I hadden't fired a handgun in a LONG time. I just hope I can do as well when it counts. |
| Yay...I got ALL of the paperwork turned in (had to get fingerprints made...again) and gave the state a check (oh, joy)...they said up to 120 days...ouch. But, I'm such a BORING person...whoever does my background check is gonna' be REALLY bored because there is NOTHING on there...I don't even have a traffic ticket on there! 120 days to discover that I am a total nerd and as exciting as a bowl of cereal....*sigh* Oh, well, such is life....grrr. |
