Ok, heres the deal; I am covered in stretch marks from my boobs to my legs. I had my baby last December, and managed to ward off stretch marks until my 8th month, but by the end they were everywhere. Since having her I have lost all but a couple pounds, everyone said the stretch marks would disapate with the weight, but they haven't. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can rid myself of these marks?

I don't speak from experience, but would toning up or just stimulating the muscles a bit help to even things out?

Are you fair skinned? if so, be grateful because they will probably fade with time. I don't know if there is any scientific fact to the Vitamin E thing, but it made me feel better and my skin was really really soft, but anyway, put vitamin E oil on them after you get out of the shower. That helped me.

Sounds a lot like my wife's first pregnancy.  She did great but in the last week or two the stretch marks showed up on a few places.  Honestly, they will fade and become light over time.  How long will depend on your genes.  I believe that there are creams that will help in the fading, but I don't know of any specific kinds to recommend.  I personally wouldn't recommend tanning your body...it tends to decrease the elasticity of one's skin.

Once you get them, they're there for life.  They may diminish over time, but you're stuck with them, sorry.  I hear cocoa butter or shea butter help, so you might try that.  I've also heard about the vitamin E thing, too.

My biceps are covered in stretch marks.

Cocoa butter really helped them blend in.

When I first got them they looked sort of transparent, after a while it filled in but its a much lighter tone compared to the rest of my skin color. I go to the beach often to get even tans to keep them under wraps. I can only see them in the winter, when I get little sun.

Thanks all... JI will give it a try... I just wish they would magically disappear...

Welcome to motherhood.

Red badges of courage, every one of them.

They fade, but you've got them for life.  Sorry, they're scars... it's the nature of the beast.

Ask me how I know.

Yup.
What she said. I don't have many, but let's just say that you will never see PlaymoreMinds in those 'just above the coochie,' low waisted pants.

Mine are lower...Tankinis are no help...I need those "tasteful" bikinis with "full coverage bottoms." It's ok though, at my age, some stuff simply should NOT be out on display.

Mederma Scar cream (or a knock off). You can buy it at Walmart or Walgreens or anywhere else. It's expensive, but has received high praise as working over time for various scars, including stretch marks. the longer you've had the scar, the more difficult to remove.

My wife has stretch marks. We made them together. I don't notice them when it comes down to it.

As much as I love my wife, you DON'T want pics of stretch marks. If ya do, there are different websites.  Gimme a break.

I couldn't agree more.  I tell my wife frequently (each time she complains about them) that each one is a sign of honor.  Now if only I could convince her of that...

It's that evil genetics thing.  I lathered up with belly butter for both of mine, and still have them.  They fade to silvery streaks after a while.  I have a sunburst at my belly button (I had a navel peircing that created an interesting pattern) and what look like claw marks on my hips (they are about 1/4 inch or so thick).  They don't bother me anymore, but it took a little bit of time to get used to my new look.
