As you may know, I recently began to see someone who is registered here as DiamondGirl. Sadly, she has not had much of a chance to get even her first post up because she has been preparing for a surgery which she will be undergoing tomorrow (Wednesday). In short, she has a goose-egg-sized lump in her shoulder, and the docs have no idea WTF it is. They're going in to get it out. It is causing her some pretty wicked pain, and the docs didn't want to biopsy it since they were afraid it could spread if it's cancer. The poor thing is mildly freaking out and I was hoping you fine folks would send your prayers. I'll show her this thread later so she'll see that this place is, in fact, the online family I keep going on about. Thanks. P.S. - Yes, I'll be standing guard over her tomorrow night after she gets home. Unfortunately, I MUST be at the damned office tomorrow. Typical.

Sorry I took so long to get back and update you.... I've been playing nurse at night. ![]() DG is doing well! Yesterday she actually looked human, as opposed to the day before when she looked like death warmed over. The lump thing was removed without incident (we'll find out next week WTF it was), and she also had some minor reconstructive surgery done to her face to repair lingering damage from a car accident many years ago (That part came as a bit of a shock to me, too.). As you know, even the slightest head incisions bleed like mad, and the poor thing came home looking as if she'd taken a round through the brain tank. Fortunately, the incisions are miniscule and scarring will be practically nil. Anyway, she's all cleaned up and out from under the anesthesia (which really knocked her on her ass), and the pain meds she's VERY conservatively taking are keeping the edge off the recovery. I'll be playing nurse all this weekend too, when I hope she'll be able to log on herself and finally say hello. Thanks for the prayers and the kind words of support. |

In her honor, I dug up this song: DIAMOND GIRL (lyrics by James Seals; music by James Seals & Dash Crofts, 1973) From the albums DIAMOND GIRL (1973) Diamond Girl, you sure do shine. Glad I found you, glad you're mine. Oh my love, you're like a precious stone, part of earth where heaven has rained on. Makes no difference where you are. Day or nighttime, you're like a shinin' star. And how could I shine without you, when it's about you that I am? Diamond Girl, roamin' wild. Such a rare thing, radiant child. I could never find, another one like you. Part of me is deep down inside you. Can't you feel the whole world a-turin'. We are real, and we are a-burnin'. Diamond Girl, now that I've found you, it's about you that I am. Diamond Girl, you sure do shine. Diamond Girl, you sure do shine. Diamond Girl, you sure do shine. Diamond Girl, you sure do shine. |
