My wife is looking into getting the new H&K P 30 SK compact 9mm. She's only shot a 380 comfortably. She is a smaller frame woman and wants to know thoughts from other woman on how the gun shoots, or at least a sub compact 9mm as far as recoil , etc.. . We've read excellent reviews on the H&K  Just looking for other review from women. Thanks.

If I had to choose a compact, I would go with S&W M&P 9. But that is a personal. Is she wanting some to conceal or just shoot?

I carry a M&P Shield. I choose that over the M&P compact when I was buying my gun. Now, to just shoot. My M&P full size is my favorite.

I've no experience with the HK but there's always a tradeoff with any compact or especially subcompact and that's recoil.  Best bet is to let her get as much trigger time on full size 9's as possible.  The best way to turn potential shooters off the sport is starting too big, or in this case, too small too soon.  Let her shoot full size and softer recoiling compacts as much as possible so she builds the confidence to handle more recoil comfortably.  After that she'll be able to handle anything.
