I'm looking for a target that would be good for higher caliber rifle or 9mm handgun. Any recommendations?

Are you asking what kind of paper target or steel target? Are you working on accuracy?

I have a few good resources to contact depending on the specifics you're looking to get. What size targets, what type targets, what caliber ??

For a .270, 30-06 etc... basically your deer hunting type of rifles, I say get some Tannerite and put it inside a pumpkin or watermelon

Here is a pretty accurate chart of the different thicknesses you need to look for.

I'm trying to find the name of the company we bought our target and stand from but in having a hard time recalling it right now. I'll update when I find it.

I get mine from Action Target. (store.actiontarget.com) Their dueling trees are particulary fun and really the teach the fine line between speed and accuracy.

If you're going to shoot centerfire rifle, going to AR550 over the 500 will give more life out of your targets, albeit at a higher price initially.
If you angle the target so the round/debris is deflected downward, the target will last longer and it will be safer.
Always shoot rifles at steel at 100 yards or better, and USE EYE PROTECTION.
Jacketed ammo produces an amazing amount of dangerous shrapnel, you will be amazed at how far it can be directed back at the shooter.
