I'm curious....... What kind of tattoos do most women (of Arfcom) prefer to see on a male?

Colored / Black & White?

Random?

Military type?

Scripture?

Just wondering. I have a few picked out, but they're mostly along the lines of my occupation.

If youre getting a tattoo for someone else then you probably shouldn't get it

Any well done piece that means something to the wearer is GTG...Good looking ink only enhances a good looking guy, IMO.

Don't forget to post pics after you get it done.

Get something that is important to you.  Skip the Chinese/Japanese/whatever lettering unless you are actually fluent in said language.  Originality is good, quality artwork is great, and personal significance is the most important.

I like tastefully done tattoos. KNOW your artist, KNOW what he is capable of, and don't let your buddy who's just getting into tattooing do it. You get what you pay for in the tattoo industry. Have a friend, cute as a bug, who let her apprentice boyfriend do a bunch of tattoos on her. They have since broken up, and the tattoos, while a cute idea, could have been done MUCH better. No bigger turn off than a shittily done tattoo. Or tattoos that mean nothing.

Ca't say what tats I like, but I know what I don't like and that's poorly done tats. Considering this thing's gonna be with you for a while, why would you want to look down at the top of your hand and be reminded of the time in the hoosegow when Stinkin' Bill inked a spidery, childish tribute to Mom across each of your knuckles, making your hands look like a veritable nest of varicose veins?

I suppose if you MUST get a permanent (mostly) disfigurement, you ought to make sure it is a confident representation of the style of its artist. Good use of space, color, and contrast, excellent proportion, taking underlying structures into account when positioning said design, an artistic style appropriate to the theme (For example, don't get someone whose style is Norman Rockwell-esque to ink skulls on you)

I wanted a stencil of "USMC" on the left side of my chest, maybe "infidel" elsewhere, and I have this really wicked idea of a demon...... But it's hard to explain and I can't draw for anything, so I don't think anyone could make it look the way that I want the demon to look.

I like tattoos because they mean something to the wearer.  Get one that means something to you.

The only tattoos I have ever laughed at were Warner Bros. characters.  Nothing says dumbass like a tasmanian devil tattoo - see the Bloodhound Gang.

Something that is not typical(if lots of people have it it makes you seem like a follower), something that means something to you, and something that is well done.

I wouldn't be surprised if Adam Anderson has that one, considering the truck he drives;

The coolest tat I have ever seen was on a friend of mine.  He couldn't wear a wedding band, because of his profession, but had her name tattoo'd on his wedding band finger.

Otherwise, the advice I give my children.  If you have to have a tattoo, please, please, before you get it, picture what it will look like when you are all gray and wrinkly, say, about 70?  Then plan accordingly.

Tattoos should be chosen by the "wearer" and not "for the observer".  It's something that's on your body for life so choose wisely.  It should be meaningful to you and should be tasteful enough so that you won't be embarrassed by it later on in life.  I personally love asian artwork but that's what works on my body.  If you get inked - make sure it's something that you love and don't get it for someone else.  Also, check out the artist - you want someone who does original,  good quality work and not stuff off of the wall.  Good Luck!
