Does anyone have any info or photo's of the B-24-D Lady Be Good? I have found some photo's on the web, but none show her name written on her side. I am building a model and want to be accurate with it.

Thanks!

Try here. www.ladybegood.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi

I don't think there are any photos of the whole aircraft as it had been involven in anything extraordinary.

well, I usually pride myself on being able to sniff out stuff on the web but did not have a whole lot of luck.  The best I was able to find was a drawing of the plane with lettering "lady be good" shown on the side.

lady be good
edit: its about halfway down.  You'll get about three pop-ups when you click the link. The actual link is one of the smaller windows.

Hope it helps.  I would be alot more useful if you wanted a picture of a German tank.

nice website MrsGloftoe. I like some of tthe noseart seen on the old planes.  The scrappy jr. one looked cool.  You're "lady be gone" is on a B-17 though, wrong lady.

Aw heck, I'm sorry.  I wouldn't know the difference between a B-17 and a B-24 if they came up to me and tapdanced "Yankee Doodle Dandy".

It's the effort that counts.  Look at obershutze916. He can't tell the difference between a Panther and Tiger tank but we still like him here

MrsGloftoe, cool web site never-the-less.

Besides, I have told Atencio a dozen times, the Panther has the 75mm L/16 canon and the Tiger has the 50mm L/60 canon. (and the panthers crews wore all black uniforms to symbolize the color of the panther).

Thanks for the help guys!  That B-17 name looks ALOT like what was left of the B-24 Lady Be Good's nose art. (all I have been able to find photo wise shows the word "GOOD"). The crew that went down with her actually didn't name her. The plane belonged to another crew who was flying another plane at the time. When the mission came up, this crew didn't have a plane, and the plane didn't have a crew, so they were put together and the rest is history.

Makes me wonder if the crew who did name her was at one time the crew of the B-17 you found? Did crews change types of aircraft, or were they trained to fly just one type of plane?

Wow, I have no idea.  I just used my Google Fu to find the picture.  It's an interesting hypothesis though.

names were used repeatedly on planes

here is a B-24 with the name "lady be good".  It is not the original one that crashed though

lady be good v.2.0

very cool website.

The "Lady from Hades" has rather nice artwork.

hey, I saw your name on a B-24 forum asking the same question.  Any luck there?

Personally, I don't think  the B-17 has the same crew but I am just guessing

I live in Vacaville. I was curious as I have a friend who is really into guns with the same last name as you. Small world, huh?
